It thrives in moist soils, making it perfect for the bottom of the garden which gets no sun, by the sides of sheds or walls that block out light, or planted near garden ponds. Ligularia plants require a reliably moist, but well-drained soil in full to partial shade. Ligularia are ideal for growing in the moist soils at a ponds edge. Incorporate some extra organic matter into the soil before planting.
